(San Francisco Chronicle)
Rather than go to the hometown papers for solace, I thought I'd turn to
a slightly more independent-thinking source. According to the San
Francisco Chronicle:
"George Karl took over the Denver Nuggets with just over two months left in the season and turned a disjointed, underachieving team into one of the best in franchise history. Imagine what he'll do with more time."
"There's no reason to hang our heads," forward Carmelo Anthony said. "This is a beginning for us."
There's
no doubt that the team caused a lot of people in Denver to become
believers. As I understand it, the ticket office's phone is ringing off
the hook.
And with the blogging movement just starting to get
some momentum ... look for a brand new source of locker room trash to
motivate the players.
Good luck to the Spurs in their pursuit of another title.
And
a heartfelt "Thank You" to the Denver Nuggets team and staff, who have
really done a yeoman's job of delivering a quality product to Denver
fans, during good times and bad.
Hey there, I am from Denver also and just wanted to say that I thought the Nuggets run was incredible. Just wait until a full season with Coach Karl and a healthy group of guys. We will win 60 next year. peace
